Wissel´s practice spans drawing, painting, sculpture, film, and theatre. In his work, he critically engages with the construction of history, while exploring the role of art within political, social, and economic systems and the entanglements between them. His projects draw on cultural history, collective rituals, and alternative forms of social space to examine how communities shape themselves through images, performances, and shared myths. Working transmedially, Wissel links performative, narrative, and spatial practices across film, theatre, and exhibition contexts.

He studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf and the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Lyon. Alongside his artistic work, Wissel has initiated participatory projects such as Single Club and Oktoberbar, and collaborates regularly with director Jan Bonny on theatre and film productions. His work has been shown at institutions including Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen, Berliner Ensemble, Filmfest Munich, Museum Abteiberg, mumok Vienna, WDR Cologne, Theater Basel, Academy of Fine Arts Belgrade and Volksbühne Berlin.
